Opportunity to play a key part in the growth and development of an innovative
business at the forefront of technology
North West location
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the aim of this role is to safely and efficiently
manage all aspects of the day to day operations with due regard to Quality,
Health and Safety and Environmental procedures in line with Annual Operating
Plan targets, through:
- Leading all aspects of
the operation to deliver, at pace, a customer focussed, quality conscious
and cost
effective service to the business encompassing manufacturing, product
configuration activities,
quality assurance, off site servicing & breakdown response and subcontracting;
- Providing effective leadership
of people, processes and systems and fostering a culture that mirrors
the retail industry, whilst ensuring compliance with Health and Safety
requirements;
- Developing strategies for
each operational area with clear process maps, KPIs, continuous improvement
plans, budgets and controls;
- Developing a Quality Assurance
system that meets the needs of the Food Industry, ensuring full compliance
and adherence to external legislation and internal policies and procedures;
- Managing all aspects of
the business site including security, maintenance, and cleaning;
- Driving staff development
and retention strategy to include and support all operational team members
in developing to their full potential.
The Candidate
- A self-reliant, strategic-thinking,
operational leader with energy, self-discipline, drive, adaptability,
creativity, problem solving and decision-making capabilities, capable
of delivering against key performance objectives, whilst fostering a
team culture;
- Comfortable and experienced
in man-management, a natural coach and team-builder with exceptional
interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve
their performance;
- Inquisitive, questioning,
a willing learner, able to understand the "nuts and bolts"
of the operation, capable of igniting and maintaining a working rapport
and inspiring confidence amongst all;
- Ardently customer focused,
with a proven track record in delivering and exceeding expectations,
at pace, in an operational environment coupled with the ability to think
- outside the box" and
create innovative solutions
- Able to implement, drive
and embed performance improvement using Continuous Improvement tools,
including Lean, KPIs and visual management;
- A rigorous planner, capable
of defining and co-ordinating work plans, combining short and long term
tasks with strategic objectives, effectively delegating responsibilities
to others as appropriate;
- Financially competent, able
to read business accounts, construct and work to budgets;
- Computer literate including
proprietary management information systems and Microsoft Office.
Previous Experience
& Qualifications
- A proven track record of
achievement in operations management in a strong customer focused, solutions
driven, business
- Accomplished in culture
change through continuous improvement methodologies, comfortable with
challenging, collaborative and delegating styles
- Likely to have a control
systems/mechanical engineering degree.
- Experience in the demands
of the food industry would be an advantage
